There are problems with the Arthurs and one of the Richard...
My concern today is for WILLIAM.
I have differentiated several "brothers" named William Chenoweth today and feel they are in their correct places now but I wonder if anyone has dealt with some of the issues/concerns mentioned at DAR?
Also, the public trees are in the thousands so of course many repeats of info good and or bad.
Looking for actual sources.
There are some really good profiles sourced and MP'd here but I see several that still need help.
There are two Findagrave memorials that appear to have two of the William Chenoweths with exact same birth dates and locations and I would appreciate some extra eyes, opinions, help...
Please see:
https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/78243106/che which says a man born in 1760 served in the American Revolutionary war
"William CHENOWETH was born on 10 June 1760 in Frederick County, Virginia, the son of William Chenoweth and Ruth Calvert.
He served in the Revolutionary War, reaching the rank of Major, and appeared on Pottenger's Creek in Kentucky in August or September 1779."
wife attached is Mary Van Meter Chenoweth 1757–1832
and
https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/13756910/william-s-chenoweth which gives him the exact same birth date but says in the Bio he was born between 1755 and 1760 and served in the Rev War as well.
"excerpt from chenowethsite.com:
Served in the American Revolution. His name is believed to be William Smith Chenoweth, but that is not proven. He was born between 1755 and 1760 probably in Frederick Co., VA area. He died around September 23, 1838 in Allen Co., OH, the son of John Chenoweth III and his first wife Mary Smith. William, misplaced in both the Hiatt and Harris books, lived in Back Creek, Frederick Co., VA, probably on property from his father-in-law Casper Rinker. He was the only known child of John's first wife Mary Smith. He is proven in part by a codicil in his father John's will in that he received an inheritance from his grandfather and the fact that he was definitely not William the son of Thomas which Harris claimed (that William is found in Mason Co., KY) and he is not William Pugh as Cora Hiatt claimed (very different kids). He is a good fit for John(3)'s son."
no wife attached but bio adds: "married (1) Catherine Rinker (2) Mrs Ann Lewis nee McCool Nov 1811"
Tagging relevant Geni profiles:
