"John Rothrock, one of the sons of Philip, b. Feb. 18, 1744, was 2nd Lieutenant in the 5th Co., (Capt. Emanuel Herman), of the 2nd Battalion of York County Militia in the Revolution. He was a saddler by occupation, and was first married to Dorothy Gump, by whom he had two children, John and Daniel. After her death he married Charity Worley, daughter of -Francis Worley, the surveyor of Springetsbury Manor. The result of this union was nine children: Elizabeth (married Updegraph). Mary (married Fahs), George, James, Charity (married Test, one of whose grandsons was John W. Buckingham). Jacob, Henry, Thomas and Susan (married McCurdy). John lived on the northeast corner of Market and Penn streets and died Aug. 28, 1805. George and Henry Rothrock settled in Bellefonte. "
"Lieutenant John Rothrock of York Pennsylvania b 18th February 1744 d 28th August 1805 was a printer by trade during the First Continental Congress in York he had charge of printing the Continental Currency he served as Lieutenant throughout the American Revolution he was very active in the Moravian Church m firstly 1st May 1767 Dorothy Gump b nth October 1749 d 18th December 1775 m secondly 5th November 1776 Salome Charity Worley b 20th February 1759 in York Pennsylvania d 1st March 1828 dau of Daniel and Maria Worley."[1]
