In the first paragraph of "Overview: About", the final sentence reads "Their [Deacon Samuel Bass and his wife Ann Bass] offspring are the descendants of Mayflower passengers John Alden, Alice Mullins, Priscilla Mullins, and William Mullins."
This is perplexing. If their offspring are the descendants of those four, then wouldn't *they* need to be as well? And yet we know that they are not (Alden and Bass were born the same year).
Did the person who wrote this want to say that the offspring of Deacon Samuel and Ann *married* descendants of Alden and the Mullinses? That's the only way I can get it to make any sense. Even if this were the case, categorically stating that "their offspring are the descendants of" those four would imply that ALL of them so descend, which is very unlikely.
Can anyone help clear this up?
Deacon Samuel Bass and Ann Bass’ son John Bass, I
Married John and Pricilla Alden’s daughter Ruth so that would make their children descendants. Deacon Samuel and Ann Bass would not be descendants .( They could be thru another line that I’m not aware of tho..
I am a descendant of all of them. John & Priscilla are my 10th great grandparents and so are Deacon Samuel & Ann Bass. Hope this answers your question.
