Mary Faye Smith (Sanchez) - Obituary

Graveside services for Mrs. Mary Faye Smith will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at Big Island Baptist Church Cemetery, Deville, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville. Family and friends will begin to gather at 11:30 a.m.

Mrs. Smith, 77, of Deville, entered eternal rest on Saturday, January 16, 2021, at Woods Haven Nursing Home, Pollock, LA.

She worked for Walmart for over twenty years and also for Pinecrest State School. She was an avid runner and reader and a devout Christian. Family was everything to her and her life revolved around her children and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Tony and Jewel Sanchez; her husband, Harless Smith, Sr.; and three brothers, Calvin Sanchez, Charles Sanchez and Allen Sanchez.

Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include three sons, Greg Sanchez and his wife, Karen, of Pollock, Erwin Sanchez and his wife, Ashley, of Deville and Carrol Smith and his wife, Patricia, of Crossville, TN.; one daughter, Vivian Nugent, of Deville; five brothers, Clyde Sanchez and his wife, Everette, of Turkey Creek, Tommy Sanchez, of Pineville, Robert Sanchez, of Pineville, Donnie Sanchez and his wife, Brunella, of Woodlawn and Carl Sanchez and his wife, Pat, of Shreveport; three sisters, Peggy Sanchez, of Pine Prairie, Patricia Paul and her husband, Ray, of Pineville and Nita Hicks, of Pine Prairie; nine grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
