James Ward - Parents and Wives

Given that this James' parents are shown both having been born and died in England, it's unlikely he was born in Virginia.

The Ancestry trees I see him in have him born in England, but they also have his wife as Ann Raynor, not Ann Gunville. No one seems to agree who his parents were. Some show James Ward and Anna Fawkes, others have Rev. Nathaniel Ward and Jane Hopkins (widow Hopkins - maiden name Strong) and others have Rev. Nathaniel Ward and Elizabeth Stuart.

I started out Googling trying to find whether he was married to Ann Raynor or Ann Gunville or maybe both. I can't find any info to validate any of his connections.

The nearest to this James I got was I found this site with his father James Ward listed as James (Stapley) Ward and that the father was married to both Anne Fawkes and Anne Gunville. The site doesn't list a son named James:

This site shows Ann Gunville's husband as Richard Action Ward, not James Ward:

This site does reference a son for Rev. Nathaniel Ward named James Edward Ward b. 1608, which is the birth date used in Ancestry trees for the James Ward shown married to Ann Raynor:

but the post is just an inquiry and the info is sketchy.

I did find this marriage info for the James who was married to Ann Raynor, but that doesn't mean it's this James:

The document is attached as a Hint on Ancestry for the James Ward connected to parents James Ward and Ann Fawkes, but sometimes Hints on Ancestry are connected to the wrong person. In fact, the inconsistency of Hints attached to this James on Ancestry is what led me here to open this Discussion, because one Hint has his parents as:

Father Nathaniell Warde
Mother Ann Warde

So I'm left very uncertain about the connections for this James with regard to his parentage and who he married. Since he's supposedly my 9th great-grandfather, I'd like to get his connections correct in my tree. Thanks in advance to anyone who has documentation for these connections other than what is in other family trees, like marriage records, birth records, anything to actually document whose child he was and who he married. I just haven't been able to find anything. I think it's made more challenging because James Ward is a fairly common name and it's possible various ones have been confused. ?
