Sir John C. Stewart is presently identified as the husband of Janet Wilson and as the father of five children whos were born during the period 1638-43. Glasgow’s marriage records confirm that a man named Johne Stewart did marry a lady named Jonnet Wilsone, the marriage was booked on 14 February 1637, but he is not referred to as a knight in his marriage record, or in the baptismal records of any of his known children. In view of this the title “knight” should be removed from his profile.
