Query on Alfred Nichols parents

I think that Alfred Stanley Nichols is NOT the son of Thomas Lewis Nichols, Convict "Maria" 1820 (1801-1882) and Mary Ann Eliza Nichols, Free Settler "Elizabeth" 1823

In his overview it states he died in the sinking of the Titanic in 1912 aged 42 years. This would give him a birth date of c1870 - although his profile says born 1864 New South Wales

Thomas Lewis Nichols, Convict "Maria" 1820 was a convict and was sent to Tasmania in 1820 where he remained until his death in 1882

Thomas was married to Mary Ann Eliza Nichols, Free Settler "Elizabeth" 1823 in 1823 and they were married when she died in 1877 - and they are buried together.

Thomas and Mary did have a son called Alfred born in 1850 in Tasmania who died in 1921 in Tasmania - Alfred Nichols
