I entered the following comment on the Find-a-Grave memorial just now.....
"My husband and I have been to the cemetery on several occasions. It is on the property of a power plant now, and you have to make arrangements to go there. Anyway.....while there are a good many markers still there, there are none for William or George Hice. It is believed that flooding over the years may have washed markers....and even graves....away. However, it is firmly believed that there were here at one time. The Hice property wasn't very far up the creek from the site of the cemetery."
Sadly, there is no marker for William's grave. As I have noted in the memorial, his wife is buried elsewhere. She outlived him by many years, and was blind and living with various relatives in Westmoreland county during her later years. The cemetery at Tarrs has many graves related to the Hice family.
