Samuel Poland - Samuel Poling 1680 - 1732

I am Helen Eakins. Samuel Poling and Margaret Grietje (Wykhof) Poling are my 6th great grand parents. I am from the line of their son - Martin Poling (1708 - 1770). In 2023 I revised research after finding boxes of data unseen in decades. This family follows the British naming customs during Colonial days which means "JR" was from an uncle and not the father. I think this is new data in looking at these names. This family also reused names, so dates and locations are very important. There is a variation of spelling of the last name within some families also.

Samuel and Margaret Grietje (Wykhof) Poling also had a son named Samuel Daniel Poling. He may be a Jr. but there is no proof of that. I believe the middle name was assumed by earlier researchers causing merging of the two Samuels. So I have removed the possible middle name of the one that is the husband of Margaret Grietje (Wykhof) Poling.
