She was my one of my great-grandmothers I have found no proof that Deborah Travis (1825-1858) was a daughter of Isaac N. Travis. I have put the idea forward on a circumstantial basis.
1) Other than Isaac, I have found no Travis possibilities in Hancock Co., Indiana. Neither have I found possibilities in Montgomery Co., Ohio where Abraham Stutsman was born.
2) Her husband, Abraham Stutsman, had a brother Nicholas who married Catherine Travis. Catherine has been shown to be a daughter of Isaac. It was not uncommon for siblings of one family to marry siblings in another family.
3) The three households, Isaac, Nicholas, and Abraham all lived in close proximity to each other.
4) Isaac, Abraham, and another Stutsman brother, Andrew, had all served as Justices of the Peace in Jones Twp. Hancock Co.
5) They all knew each other.
But we still need to find documentation on Deborah's parentage.
