Flaw in design of your software suspected

Geni will not let me see ancestry via my great grandfather, Theodor Hoidahl, because it is attracted to my granduncles wife, Swanhild, instead.
It recognizes she is younger and closer in age than my great grandfather but she is not a blood relative. People related to her are not related to me.
The software goes down the Swanhild Hoidahl rabbit hole and states we are only related to people SHE is related to, which we are not (only her children and their people), AND as in law relationships, no blood relationships because we are NOT a blood relationship of her (again, she married my Grandma Ruth Dennett's (Hoidahl) brother, my Grand Uncle Harald. They had one child, also Swanhild, a daughter they named after her mother who died.

I need to track the relationships of MY FAMILY.
Linda to Phyllis to Ruth to Theodor/Anette and above!
Like everyone on my mothers side since beginning of time.
Please help.
