This is the one and only on-line profile I have found of Thomas Ignatius Adams claiming that he was born in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom?
Other sources claim he was born in Waters Upton, Shropshire, England, UK - which is not close to Cornwall. (And other sources claim that he is from Ireland, but again, no source attributed to this claim aside from his being buried in a Catholic cemetery.)

What is the source of the Cornwall claim?

It's my understanding that Capt. Adams and his entire family were born in Waters Upton. A Shropshire lad who fired one of the first shots heard round the world.
