Her birth date of 25 Nov 1692 clashes with the presently linked mother's death on 6 Aug 1689. Her death date and and burial in Simsbury emply these sources:

As an aside, as one who lives just north of Simsbury, Holcomb is a long-standing name in the town. Holcomb Road, Holcomb Farm, and other places in town so named must tie directly into these these relations.
Now, we have sources showing a Rachel Owens born as daughter to Josiah Owen in Simsbury on the above date, but neither one lists her mother's name:

We do know that Josiah married a Sarah in 1692 by the following source.
* Name: Josiah Owen
* Gender: Male
* Marriage Date: 1692
* Marriage Place: New England, USA
* Death Year: 1722
* Spouse: Sarah Owen
* "U.S., New England Marriages Prior to 1700"

Whether she is her mother may not find firm sourcing. However, the options seem limited upon cursory review:
* another Josiah Owen being the father? However, I can't find a viable source to prove there was another living in or near Simsbury who might rationally be the father of Rachel.
* Rachel is the daughter of Josiah and Sarah;
* Rachel may've been born out of wedlock.
