Hello Peter Davidson,
I have recently found your Davidson family tree on the Ancestry website because I am currently researching the origins of James Arnott Davidson; in particular I am trying to identify the source of the name Arnott.

I am intrigued that you have shown that James Arnott Davidson was born 17 June 1886 at Cruden, Aberdeenshire. I wonder if you are aware that there is a James Arnott Davidson who was actually born 28 October 1886 at Hedley, Place Newcastle upon Tyne. Northumberland. His parents are listed on his birth registration as Peter Davidson and Isabella Davidson nee Smith.

The person born 17 June 1886 at Cruden was named as James William Davidson. His parents are listed as Peter Davidson and Catherine Forbes. This James William Davidson later married Isabella (Bella) Donald on 3rd June 1911 at Inverurie, Aberdeenshire. The same James William Davidson died on 24 September 1959 at Musselburgh, Midlothian.
