His marriage record to Martha Sargeant/Sergent/Lyigient however states his age as 26 as of Dec 26, 1881. This would point to his birthday being between April 24th and December 26, and his year of birth being 1855.

WH was a painter for the 1881census and for the birth of his two older kids in 1883 and 1886. His Ontario SchC (Death) record in Grey county states he (William of Flesherton, a married painter) was 43 at the time of death - August first.
This would further indicate his birthday was between April 24 and August 1st.
