Older genealogies show her as sister Lt Walter Fyler, but Anderson’s Great Migration Project does not support the identification.

Disconnected Ann Hoskins wife of John Hoskins, of Windsor as daughter of George Roman Fyler & Jane Fyler

Continuing to cleanup based on The Great Migration Project.

  • John Hoskins origins are unknown. Disconnected as son of William Hoskins
  • 3 children: (probably) John, Thomas, & (possibly) Katherine.. Their Geni profiles are Thomas Hoskins who married Elizabeth Hoskins; John Hoskins; and Katherine Hosmer who married 1) Lt. David Wilton 2) Thomas Hosmer
  • TGM comments that “ Older sources claim that John Hoskins's wife was Ann Filer sister of Walter Filer, and that there were two more children: ANTHONY Hoskins, who married in 1656, and REBECCA, who also married in 1656. There is, however, no evidence for the identity of Hoskins's wife, and Anthony and Rebecca are MORE LIKELY HIS NEPHEW and NEICE, or EVEN TOTALLY UNRELATED. Genevieve Kiepura presented the arguments for excluding Anthony and Rebecca [TAG 30:191-92], and her conclusions were supported by Coddington a few years later [TAG 38:1-4].
  • Therefore, have disconnected Anthony Hoskins who married 1) Jesabel ‘Isabel’ Hoskins 2) Mary Hoskins & Rebecca Kelsey who married Mark Kelsey as children of John and Ann Hoskins, the colonists. However, they are linked as siblings.

Source for this family clarification is Robert C. Anderson, "The Great Migration Begins: Immigrants to New England, 1620-1633" (Boston, MA: NEHGS, c1995). Available on Ancestry.com and AmericanAncestors.org.
