If there's a bad merge, then the merge needs to be unmerged. We shouldn't delete valid profiles just because they have been connected in mistake.

Hello, they were both made by me. One of the two merged profiles did not actually exist, I thought the parents had a son with that name, and the second profile appeared to have parents with the same name. The connection needs to be deleted.
