I'd like to have a discussion with anyone willing to share evidence I've compiled.
This line is pretty much the bulk of my research when I have the time to try and dig things up. It is my direct paternal line and surname.

The "John Rice Sr" and "John Rice Jr" relationship needs to be sussed out. It is incorrect. According to the Patrick Rice family bible transcription, he had 1 son. John Rice, born 1745. It was explained to me by another researcher (take it for what you will) that it was customary at the time to give an elder person of the same name the title 'Sr" if there was another around. I don't think 'John Rice Sr" had his family at 15. That needs to be sussed out before being taken as fact.
I have an interest to Patrick Rice's son, Edmund, supposedly died 1797. The Journal of Nicholas Cresswell mentions a Edward(Edmund) Rice by name, when he was South of Fort PItt in 1774. Cresswell traveled with George Rice, son of Patrick, who served as his frontier guide. Cresswell mentions 2 of George's family while referring to SW PA. He mentions "George's brother-in-law" Zachariah Connell, who married George's sister.
Cresswell also mentions an unnamed brother of George's who was south of Fort Pitt. This gives 2 options i believ - John Rice, son of Patrick, born 1745(according to the Bible transcription above) or his brother Edmund, who is in the 1773 Tyrone Township tax list outside of Connellsville, PA.
So who is John Rice Sr? Certainly Patrick Rice didn't have 2 sons named John, one of whom doesn't show up in the Bible transcription. Why is this John Rice Sr listed as a father of John Rice Jr -
George Rice's brother, Edmund Rice, if he had children, have been impossible to dig up. Did he have children and who were they? I believe my direct relatives father, known only by the name William, could be one of Edmund's sons although I have no evidence only suspicion. William was one of the earliest immigrants to Jefferson County, KY with his son, Captain War 1812 William M Rice (d 1829 Henry Co) - A Wi
