His date of birth is too close to Roxanna Moore 's to be his son unless his date of birth or hers is incorrect
What records do we have for them?

Cynthia Curtis, A183502, US7875087 - Just pointing out that if John Moore who married Judith Moore witnessed a deed in 1730, he was probably born 1709 or earlier (age 21 or older to witness, I’m pretty sure), and not the 1717 the profile currently shows.

Erica Howton this one is another painful cut I had to make!
I worked on him a bit here and on FS but have left him at Wikitree for now.
I will make a COMMENT on his profile there and try to get the ball rolling.
He is my 6th great grandfather so too far for autosomal without doing a group study or knowing the Y haplo...
The 5 children listed in the will of Robert do not have their family groups filled in which is a major problem.
At Ancestry, I found several trees with parents for John who married Judith and Judith's About has some speculations as to her parents but I have not researched her extensively... yet.
John has sat as Robert and Roxanne's son and I cannot imagine why it did not leap off the page as impossible before now?
And I really love Robert and Roxanne.

Do I need to add a wife Agnes to John?
Is the will him?

If we’re sure the Will is for this John Moore, yes, his widow was Agnes:

Item I give and bequeath unto my loving Wife Agness Moore my land and plantation whereon I now live containing one hundred acres by estimation during her widowhood and after her death or widowhood I then give the same to my son John Moore. I give these land and plantation to him and his heirs forever and in case my said son John Moore is without heirs of his body my will and desire is that the land above mentioned shall be equally devided amongst my other children. I give it to them and their heirs forever.

(But I’m not sure the Will is him)

Me either :)

I will have to devote some time to them.

I think tagging the names of the folks in the About will help me since the names are so familiar but I think the About needs cleaned up

I break down wills by separating line by line (asteriks to make a list) and making the named person bold.

Thank you, Erica Howton

Didn’t help. :(

You’ll have to break down the indenture (descendants pursuing their property share). Agnes as widow is not mentioned, but at least that way you should be verify, via the son John Moore of the Will, that both docs defer to John Moore, Sr.

Such a common name.
I’ll come back to them tomorrow
