It looks like I will answer my own question. Occupations begin to be recorded in the baptismal records in the mid 1860s. What I found for Borčić males are the following occupations: Nauta=Navy, Capitanei nav=Naval Capitan, Scriba Nautus=Maritime Cleric/Recorder, Crijač=Breeder, Mornar=Sailor.
