Good afternoon !

I would like to tell you a little about Tentelevo, (St. Petersburg, the current district of the Narva Gate), where my ancestors lived by the name of Koivistoinen.

Tentula village, which existed on the site of Stachek Avenue/Chemical Lane on the bank of the Tentelevka River (Olkhovka). Nearby (in Peter's time) was the Tentelev cemetery. It has been mentioned since 1500.
Spellings: Telltenitz odhe, Teltenissa Odhe, Tellilla by, Lille Teltenitz, Taltina by, Tontele, Tontyla, Tonttola (up to1836), Tenttel. The oldest name of Teltenitsa, which was later replaced by the Finnish Telttil, Tenntel, which in turn became the Russian Tenteleva, Tentelevka. The origin is unknown. in the Middle Ages, the village was divided into parts. Bolshaya Teltenitsa is the southeastern side of Narva, Malaya Teltenitsa is on the southern shore of Tentelevka (Olkhovka).
There was also a Right Tenteleva Street. She entered the territory of the park named after the Ninth of January and the industrial development quarter.
The last section of Marshal Govorov Street – from Shvetsov Street to Metrostroevtsev Street – actually appeared only by the end of the 1960s.
The name perfectly corresponds to this highway, since it is located where the front line of defense was located during the Great Patriotic War".
The buildings were preserved until the war. After 1945, the village was absorbed by the Garden. But! Two alleys still correspond quite accurately to the disappeared streets. Between them is the ghost river Tentelevka. And the pond at the back of the park may be a trace of a vanished river.

Near Tentelevo were the villages of Volynkina, Yemelyanovka. Our ancestors also lived in them.

My great-grandfather - Koivistoinen (Berezin) Ilya Mikhailovich. Born in St. Petersburg, 14.04.1876, Pravaya Tenteleva 3, Narva Gate district.
He died on January 4, 1942.
We are looking for photos and information about his family. Unfortunately, there is no information.. He had a sister, Ulyana Mikhailovna. Their mother is Anna Sofia Ivanovna Koivistoinen (Walling). She died in 1918 in Petrograd.
Unfortunately, all data is missing in Russia.

In Vyritsa he had his family estate, near the Kazan Church and the Oredezh River. Then there was a pioneer camp of a Tobacco factory on this place.

If anyone has information, I will be glad to communicate!

Sincerely, Marina

Good evening Maria,
I think that person you are lookin for is Elias Mikonpoika Koivistoinen!? The ingrians families are little bit hard to find in Geni, because of difference of how to write their names and in what langauge...

Oh, you are an administrator in that profile! I thought that you are looking for ansestors. Sorry, I don´t have any pictures or further information about your family. :)

Good evening!
Yes, in Finnish it will most likely be like Elias Mikonpoika Koivistoinen.

Yes, that's right, I'm looking for my ancestors, that's I decided to also write in this project. Maybe someone else is looking for and will help with information! :). I want to post it in different projects to get more detailed information about the history of my ancestors.

Do we talk about this place?

The Finnish cemetery is demolished by communists.

The staroobryadcy-cemetery is somehow preserved, but rather as a park than a cemetery.

Robert Treufeldt Yes, that's right!

I suppose you have been here: http://www.digiarkisto.org/sshy/index.htm

No, I don't know this site! Thanks, I'll watch it.

My ancestors were buried on this cemetery. My parents' house is very near but we didn't know about the cemetery. Great grandfather was buried there in 1918 and they closed the cemetery 9 years later. So sad. I guess Marina's ancestors are also there, under the concrete.

In the metrics of St. Mary's Church, I found the ancestors who were buried in the Tentel cemetery.

It is a pity that the cemetery no longer exists...
The time of closure and destruction of the Tentelevsky cemetery is unknown, the last time it was marked on the map of Leningrad in 1933, and on the map of 1934 a vacant lot was already marked instead of the cemetery. There were no reburials from the cemetery to museum necropolises.
Currently, there is no trace of the cemetery, it is difficult even to establish its exact location. Approximately this is the corner of Chemical Lane and Marshal Govorov Street, south of Lermontovsky Lane, opposite Urkhov Lane.

In 1977, an administrative and warehouse complex was built on Marshal Govorov Street, 37.
