There are many variations of the Darville spelling: Darvil, Darvill, Darvel, Darvell, Darville. However, it appears that the vast majority hail from Harrow Weald. My 2g grandfather was Henry (Harry Darville) who married Emily Llewellyn in 1865. The last location for them was York in 1871. The next appearance is in Mississippi in the late 1870s. If anyone has more information, I would be so grateful. I cannot find any immigration information of any kind on them, and I know they did not swim! They adopted a Robert Watts in 1878or so, who arrived from England in 1877 with Harriett Watts. I cannot find any information on her at all. The odd part is that other Darville men from Harry and Emily look so much like my biological grandfather, that there has to be a family connection. I look forward to hearing from others!
