Yup, I usually will not disconnect unless I have first verified the Profile will still be connected to the World Tree - which often involves doing a lot of work building and documenting.

I ran inactive manager, so requests to be added as manager will be honored.

Also, can use “create a branch” for missing relatives to a connecting profile in a stand-alone tree, and request curators to merge.

Thanks, ladies.

Erica Howton I sent the request to be added as a manager--- it has not automatically added me so what happens next?
Does it go to a customer service box?

No. The manager needs to review and approve, or not. Geni CS has nothing to do with it.

My suggestion would be not to worry about this recent profile, but to work up the tree where you may be able to find matches into the World Family Tree, the higher you go. And you are the manager of her parents, so should have no trouble.

PS I fixed her maiden name.

Erica Howton I think I misunderstood. If the manager is INACTIVE, it would go nowhere?

I am ok with not managing the profile. I just really hate to leave a profile incomplete.
I love seeing the family groups come together.

Thank you for the suggestion(s)

The current manager is not inactive so it’s not a relevant question. :)

If you build up the tree, I would think you’ll find a connection to the World Family Tree. And then, regardless of manager activity, the profile is editable unless within the privacy range.

Basically, geni customer support is never involved in this process.

I don't understand this:

"I ran inactive manager, so requests to be added as manager will be honored."

I thought you meant the manager of this profile was inactive

Is ok, either way.
I have moved on and will likely be back this way in the future

So many Lorenzo Dow 's....

Obviously I am a terrible FAQ writer.:)

The previous manager was inactive. I ran inactive manager, the request to manage should have routed to the new manager, who needs to act on the request - or not.

:D

No worries :)

There has been no change in the Manager of Mary Bertha Clifton

It currently does not say Inactive Manage - almost certainly because one has to wait 7 days before Inactive Manager can be run again.
