Rhoda Mercer (Price) - Parents?

Cynthia, I am a descendant of Rhoda. Go to my tree on Ancestry which would be the one w/Mercers in it. I haven't looked at that tree for awhile, but have it back to the first Mercer's in the US, then back to Barbados.My g.mother was a Gossett, and her mother was Mary Alice Jarvis. Her mother was Catherine Mercer, who married Edmond Jarvis. Catherine's father was Thomas Gillis Mercer. His father, I think, was Martin, and his father was Shadrack. I THINK Rhoda was the mother of Martin. She owned one of the largest pockets of coal mining land in Muhlenburg Co.KY, left to her by her 2nd husband. Peabody Coal came in and bought up most of it from the descendants, and stole any they couldn't contact. They took most of my famlies land and strip mined it right up to my g.parent's house. As far as we know, they never got legal possession to any of it-basicallyl, they stole it! Jeanette Mercer tried to investigate it, and she said they "burned up" her brand new computer and she was pretty much told to "Leave it alone"! We are also part Tuscarora Indian through Rhoda's line. The gov. took approximately 250,000 acres of land from the tribe. They built an Arnold Palmer golf course on part of it. Jeanette tried to stop it, but I found where it had already been taken by the gov., prior to. Glad to meet you "cousin"?? ( I am in St. Augustine,FL, but b. in Muhlenberg Co. KY)

MY Abraham Huddleston was the brpther-in-law of your Agatha Holliday. Agatha Agnes Huddleston married my 5th great grandfather's brother.

Hicks is a fairly common name.
My grandfather (dad's dad) was an only child of his parents so I rarely meet a Hicks cousin.
