Peter Albritton did not die on 28 April 1799 as is often claimed in data given for him on numerous ancestry trees. That is the date that the Pitt County Court ordered commissioners to divide a 164.5-acre tract of land he left in his will to seven of his children. He must have died in 1798 or in the early months of 1799 for his Will to have already be filed in Court and the Court to have taken the action to divide this land.
