Hello Cliff Cohen
Geni is a collaborative website where we all work together to be as accurate as possible, as Nathan (and other profiles you have tagged today) is a close relative of yours why not correct the data in his profile (even better if you add source documents to his profile) that way other Geni users will benefit from your superior knowledge of these particular profiles!
Yes, my father's father's name was Nathan M Cohen, but Geni has allowed erroneous information to be posted about my father corrupting, in my mind, all information in related and linked sites. I do not necessarily blame Geni, but on the other hand, I refuse to be a party to the incorrect information herein peddled.
Geni provides a software platform for users to build family trees, Geni does not create family trees and Geni does not filter what information is added to profiles by users.
You are in a perfect position to correct the information in these profiles and utilising Geni's privacy rules to ensure they remain correct.
As a volunteer Curator I am happy to assist but your time would really be better spent making a few changes to correct the record rather than making these meaningless statements that no one is ever likely to read.
I deleted my previous post
I have reversed a bad merge
Milton M Cohen son of Nathan M Cohen and Ruth Cohen married Selma Zelda Cohen
Had been incorrectly merged with
Milton Morris Cohen son of Nathan C. Cohen and Lillian Julia Cohen
To anyone who cares,
My position on the issue is simple; I will flag errors if I see them, I but will not post information. If anyone wants information from me, I work on a simple quid pro quo system. To avoid erroneous information in the future you can simply ask me if the information is accurate before you posted. If you fail to follow my rules, I will simply flag the error and list you as personna not grata.
Cliff Cohen Alex and I are trying to assist you but you are making it far more difficult than it needs to be.
Someone (not Alex or myself) confused 2 similar named people and merged them - a rather simple error which was easily fixed. I have separated the 2 profiles and stopped the error from happening again.
