This is conflating at least two different people. John Buckner who died in 1748 was a nephew of the present John Buckner. This John Buckner was referred to as deceased by his widow in a 1727 deed and his last land patent was dated 1726, so he died around that time. He had seven children known from primary sources who survived to adulthood, so his genealogical significance is not to be underestimated.
