Why does this profile have "d.y." in the suffix field?
Typically "d.y." indicates "died young" but this man lived to 62, married and had several children, so not young by any measure.
Is there another meaning in some other language? The problem with abbreviations is that what seems obviou

...obvious to one person is completely meaningless to another.

@Alex Moes

Another meaning in some other language is the younger (det yngre, d.y., Swedish).

Ah! So "d.a" in his father's suffix means the older? Thank you for the explanation.

Correct (den äldre).

d.y. = den yngste = the youngest

Interesting to know!

Seems Mikael von Jordan's death was unexpected:

'Lieutenant Colonel Michel M: son Jordan's earthly hike ended in Stockholm in December 1652 (between 3 and 15 days). Last October, his last daughter (Helena) had just been born, who had been christened to the Jacobin Church in Stockholm on November 3, 1652, so he had invited such high guests as Chancellor Axel Oxenstierna and General Fr P. Brahe. Invitation letters are still in store. Colonel Jordan was buried temporarily in Stockholm on December 30, 1652, but in Rauma in the Church of the Holy Cross on April 29, 1655.
