Walter Douglas, showing as his father, died circa 1444, but Walter "Innes" birth shows 1451.
Some explanation is vital to have for why Walter Innes dissociated his surname from Douglas to Innes.

The math is easily resolved, if you look at the text in the About of Walter's father, William Douglas, 2nd Baron Of Drumlanrig , you'll see that the "Autumn 1444" date comes from "Burke's Peerage, 1938" but there reading further a date of 1458 is listed and the source for this is "Burke's Peerage, 107th edition" which was published 2003.

I have changed the DOD for William Douglas, 2nd Baron Of Drumlanrig

The real question is what evidence exists to link Walter to William? Currently there is a "source" shown on Geni but it is only another internet website.

According to Bourke's Walter is actually a grandson of William: http://www.thepeerage.com/p41229.htm#i412290 if you post a link here for a Geni profile of Sir Robert Innes, 11th of that Ilk I'll happily move Walter across for you as the Curator of these MPs is still very busy catching up.

Never mind, i was being lazy. Sir Robert Innes, 11th Laird of that Ilk

Now the problem becomes that Bourke's only lists six children, including Walter Innes of Innermarkie , whereas Geni currently has eight including Walter Innes of Innermarkie This second Walter appears to be a duplicate of the Walter you started from though none of his data matches Bourke's except wife's name and names of two sons.
