My mom has a brother who is into genealogy and he is the one who helped me with building my family tree. He has some old letters that was passed on by his grandpa (my great grandpa), the letters came from Belarus. We decided we should reconnect with the family members who wrote them and we recently reconnected with the help of google translation and an interpreter. The family seems shy but I can understand that since we just met each other. But this family did say that the surname is very common in their town. The towns are Zapol'e, Goschevo and Seradovo.
