The Ele Toldot of "Simon von Weisenau 2.XI.1523" mentions that his father is "Menahem zu Weisenau" and that his mother is "Husschin b' Simmel Eppstein = um 1510". The geni master profile of Menahem Weisenau indicates that his wife is Rieke Weisenau (Cohen), daughter of Simon Cohen Menz, as indicated by several sources : e.g, Alexander Dietz (Stammbuch der Frankfurter Juden, 1907, p. 316), Cilli Kasper-Holtkotte (Die Jüdisches Gemeinde van Frankfurt/Main in der frühen Neuzeit, Walter de Gruyter & Co., Berlin/New York, 2010, p. 413, but on page 557, Kasper-Holtkotte writes that Simon Weisenau is the sohn of "Menachem und Husschin" ..?!). I assume that there are good reasons to disregard the Ele Toldot in this case but I should be grateful if someone could give some more information on the analysis that led to that conclusion.
