Private User, you didn't drop links to the profiles of James and Isabella, so I've dropped them here:

James Ross, SV/PROG

Isabella Ross, SM

Also, I'm not the Geni project police, but because I don't see any mention or implication of Ayshire here, it seems to me that this discussion shouldn't have been attached to the People Connected to Ayrshire project.

I decided to do a quick search of the Internet for James and Isabella, and discovered that this is a mystery that has confounded others:

Here are their WikiTree records:

• James: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Ross-19248

• Isabella: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Lamont-1401

Deleted conversation for the problem will not be solved. Thanks John for putting up the links.

Death registration Cape Town , Cape Colony 5 June 1832 James Ross age 59 born in this Colony .

Thanks Phillipp
I have the death info. It is just unfortunate that it does not give any more info on James.
There are a few James Ross's in the same area of Scotland where he is suppose to come from and non seem to match with him. I even have a copy of Isabella Lamont's mother's brother's will where she is mentioned to have married James Ross and living in Cape Town. But still not info on James.

another James Ross from England born 1804 died 1839 in Longmarket street , Cape Town
