there was a Jan Halfhoorn that was a commander that was captured during the battle of lowestoft 1665 @ https://threedecks.org/index.php?display_type=show_crewman&id=1... but date of birth does not tally .

So if he had joined around 1705 as a carpenter therefor there is a likelihood he was born way earlier than 1690, and probably even earlier.
