A user on another website has flagged a few things that they think might be wrong in Connie Stevens' tree:

I’ve been looking into Connie Steven’s maternal grandmother and the sources/Geni.com tree of her ancestors. Is it possible they got her parents wrong and the Jewish thing wrong altogether? According to 1905 New York, State Census (ancestry.com records) Sarah Asher (the maternal grandmother) was the daughter of William and Julia Asher. Once I looked into these records I found most trees confirmed the parents of Sarah Asher born around 1891 in New York. It says in one obituary what Geni.com has written but at the same time the obituary says “No confirmed primary documents to support this.” But I still found a couple of confirmed documents including the 1905 census insisting Geni.com is wrong? https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/202533568

they even got Sarah ‘Sadie’ Adler’s fathers birth state wrong. Geni says Pennsylvania but according to the 1910 United States Federal Census, married to Charles McGinley, she was the daughter of parents born in New York. I am starting to believe Sarah Asher was indeed the daughter of William F. Asher and Julia Dungan both New Yorkers born in the 1850’s. This would make Connie Steven’s maternal grandmother of English and Irish ancestry.

Can someone who has worked on these lines double check them?

Parents: Peter (Teddy Stevens) Ingoglia, Eleanor Ingoglia (born Mcginley)

Connie was born as Concetta Rosalie Ann Ingolia.

Her father’s obit is here:

Phew, at least we can be sure Connie's parents are correct. :) So I guess it's just Sarah Asher where there's a question?

Yes. It turns out Sarah ‘Sadie’ Adler was a complex lady with 3 marriages, 8 children, and 24 grandchildren. Perhaps ??? her 3rd husband was Jewish but she was buried as a Roman Catholic, so I’m being skeptical they (trees) found the right Harry Adler.

Yes, that’s looking good. I don’t want to say 100% confidence as yet.

I had originally set up from the Dowling “celebrity” tree:

http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=dowfam3&i...

Almost made the same mistake again about Charles McGinley! The big clue is that supposedly his mother was Italian.

While I'm sorry to have caused some work for you, I'm really glad we got closer to the answer here! Her new profile looks great...well done.

I am not a fan of Dowling trees for this reason...it seems there's all too often some kind of glaring error that leads the whole thing astray. Not that we haven't all made glaring errors!...but with so few citations on most of those trees, it always feels a bit likelier to happen.

This tree is going on back to early Colonial days now. Although McGinleys are not emerging, unfortunately.
