The so called Protected Master Profiles of Tree Branches disappearing....WHY???

There are 160 million profiles on the Geni World Tree. You'll need to be more specific about where on the tree you think they have disappeared from.

Where you a manager of any of these profiles? Did these profiles have any other managers on them?

p.s. You have a pending merge on your own profile. This could just be a problem due to incomplete tree merges hiding parts of tree.

Hi Jonathon thank you for your reply... I don't touch anything to do with Master Profiles/merges. However I have noted so many 'Inconsistency flags' popping up on what is now left of those Protected Master Profile branches. I dare say they are going to then disappear to!... All the branches that existed for the past few years are being deleted by Geni obviously. When I first started Geni I made an error putting up some info and I had one line removed initially due to an incorrect issue. However Nothing Else has ever changed. And I have never dared to add or remove anything now on Geni. It was told to me by Ann Brennan that every thing else was fine after she checked the info on that branch/es back then... NOW there is incomplete info I do not recognise and there are huge portions 'gone' when I bring up my Family Tree. I do understand there is a massive amount of corrupt information happening now daily. I know my line is valid that links into the Plantagenets and beyond.. sadly now though those Protected Master Profiles are disappearing...??? And sometimes when I pull up someone now who was my Grt Grand parent they now don't exist at all on my blood line?? It's becoming a hit and miss. So with 160 Million profiles I can understand the mess all this is creating. Very Sad..Seems to have gotten worse after the last time the site was down for work.

What you describe sounds like a tree conflict that isn't resolved. Tree conflicts happen where merges haven't been completed. While the tree conflict exists the Tree view can only draw one of the two possible versions of the branch. This can make it seem like a branch is gone, when in reality it's only just hidden from view until the conflict is resolved.

Geni doesn't go around deleting information off the tree at random. There are only a few special cases where Geni staff will intentionally remove information.

The farther back in history you go the more change is likely to happen in a collaborative tree. Just because a profile is made into a Master Profile doesn't mean that it will never change again. Any user that presents evidence or a compelling argument as to why something on a Master Profile needs to change can make that change.

I refuse to touch any merges etc etc all because they do cause conflicts and I don't have the time at all to try getting my head round all the issues. There are so many folk missing/now no longer blood related even because of all these so called changes... It is out of hand now, I've become so disheartened by it all.

If you can discover a profile whose parent has disappeared, you can look on its Revision Tab to see what happened to its parent -- was it deleted or disconnected? And by whom? And when?

Some person/s definitely have taken time to visit my tree and 'fixed' it..as those rather strange additions and the branches missing are now back and those few MP left with many Exclamation marks are not so many.. I thank you so much from the bottom of my heart!!...
