Today, April 24, 2022, Nora Jean and Michael Levine, gave a presentation via Zoom for the Jewish Genealogical Society of Los Angeles. The recording will be available in a few days on https://jgsla.org/past-meetings/.

Their book is entitled A Border Town in Poland: A 20th century memoir Hirsch Bieler as told to Nora Jean and Michael H. Levine. It can be purchased online from Politics and Prose, Washington, D.C. Nora and Michael did 40 years of research prior to publishing this book in 2022 and a both passionate about and deep experts in the history of the Jewish community of Grajewo in the early to mid 20th century. Hirsch Bieler's memoir is colorful and insightful and the complementary research and family documents and stories that the Levines and their far-flung Suwalski cousins contributed are the story of everyman, each of our families living in Northeast Poland in this time period.

Yes, was wonderful to see. If I felt up to it, I would have liked to ask them about Kancelbaum, Denenberg connections. Also about Simon Rawidowicz whose writings I have come across. Book mentions he was friend of Hirsch.

I'm glad you were able to attend. I did see you there. Message me and I can send you their email.

It turned out that I am closely related to the Kolko family of Grajewo that they mention.

The recording is up now.
