I couldn't find the rootsweb source for the additional children, but while searching did find the estate files:

"North Carolina Estate Files, 1663-1979," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:KLYF-JKP : 8 March 2021), Nehemiah Scott, 1801; citing Sampson, North Carolina, United States, State Archives, Raleigh; FHL microfilm 2,194,858.

It just lists the estate inventory and implied wife "Elizabeth Scott" who supplied it.

Did find that son Nehemiah Scott, II served in the War of 1812.

Are the Duplin County/Sampson County NC who are just a few miles across the line from present day Dillon County/Marion County, SC related and part of the migration that we know took place with some families? More research is needed.

South Carolina group tomorrow....

From the profile of Thomas Guilliam Scott

Thomas Guilliam Scott and Elizabeth Scott may be the progenitors of all the Scott family in the Florence/Marion section of the Pee Dee region.

Do not confuse with Thomas Scott of Williamsburg County, SC who died the same year and whose will provides for his wife, Jannet, and his seven daughters, Elizabeth, Jean, Mary, Jannet, Katherine, Margaret, and Sarah, and gives all of his real estate to his son, William. These seven daughters were given much property in the will of John Watson.

There are some indications that the Williamsburg County and Florence/Marion County Scotts may be related. More research is needed to make connections. SFG _________________________________________________

Additional records are noted that indicate that Thomas Guilliam Scott had a Company with Thomas Lynch (unsure of Sr. or Jr., both were members of the Continental Congress), John Logan, and others at his death and there were several court suits to settle.

Elizabeth Scott is named as the executrix in the suits noted above; so, we know this is Thomas Guilliam Scott of Florence/Marion and not another Thomas Scott. However, John Logan is from Williamsburg and married into the Scott family there. Again, more research is needed. _____________________________________________________________

This below would be a younger generation. Possibly Pharoah Scott was a nephew, a son or grandson of Thomas G. Scott. Women were not named in census data at the time. However, Elizabeth wife of Thomas Guilliam and Elizabeth their daughter is named along with son John Thomas in documents from SC Archives attached.

From W. W. Sellers History of Marion County retrieved from http://genealogytrails.com/scar/marion/history4.html#scott:

The Scott family, in Hillsboro, are not very extensive. Old man Pharaoh Scott lived near Tabernacle Church, on the road from Gaddy's to Nichols; he was a harmless, honest and inoffensive man; he raised three sons, Thomas, James and Ely. Thomas married and moved West, many years ago; James married Miss Sallie Elvington, daughter of old John Elvington; James Scott is dead, but his wife, Sallie, still survives; he raised a large family, sons and daughters, all unknown except the oldest son, Giles Scott, who is now a worthy citizen of that community. Ely Scott also married Miss Appie Elvington, daughter of old man John Elvington; by her he had one daughter; his wife died, and he married another one of the ten daughters of John Goodyear-an excellent woman she was; I think she is dead; she left two daughters; Ely Scott is also dead. Old Pharaoh Scott had one daughter, named Patience; she married Jerry Campbell, near Mullins; Jerry and wife are both dead; they left two sons, K. M. Campbell and Rev. Ely Campbell, citizens of Reaves Township, and much respected. Pharaoh Scott had a brother up about the High Hill, whose name is forgotten; he had sons, William and Ervin, and perhaps others, and there are members of that family now in that neighborhood, two of whom, John L. and William, are known. Ervin Scott married a daughter of old Jessee Elvington; he was an energetic, persevering man; he died in middle life, and left a family. I know nothing of them-nor is anything known of William Scott's family.

Given the name of Thomas being consistently used in the family, it seems to be a fair assumption that there is a connection. We know of this connection to the Finklea family. How can or are they connected to the rest of the Scott family noted above?

There is a Thomas Scott who lived about the same time period in Williamsburg County; however, in his will he refers to his beloved wife Janet. That Thomas may or may not be connected. More research is needed. SFG

Thomas Scott's daughter Elizabeth Finklea married Thomas Finklea, Jr. who was the son of Revolutionary patriot Thomas Finklea

The Williamsburg Scotts mentioned above will be added later. But that Thomas Scott has a will with different family members from those listed in the archives notices above.

So how or is this Scott connected - another War of 1812 veteran in the viciity of Thomas Guilliam Scott's neighborhood? Pharoah Scott

From Pharoah Scott's profile (don't you love his name)

Is Pharoah Scott a son or grandson of Thomas Guilliam Scott ? He named a son Thomas, which was a custom of the time to name children for ancestors.

https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/9CV4-MW8 notes that Thomas Scott (b. 1725) is the father of Pharoah. Was this Thomas the son of Thomas Guilliam Scott, making him the brother of Elizabeth Finklea? The dates and locations fit. More research is needed.

There may be no connections to these profiles of North and South Carolina, but they are certainly from a region where migrations between counties occurred and I think all the profiles deserve more exploration and research. I will try to find the Williamsburg lines to post and go back to the archives of both states. If anyone wants to search with me, please feel free to join. The Scott family, whether connected or not seem to be an early family of patriots and deserve the research..

From what I am seeing from the SC Archives - before the Revolution and after, there were Scott families located in the following locations:

Charleston

Craven County - Pee Dee (current Marion/Dillon Counties) and another branch in Williamsburg

Ninety Six District

Granville District

York District - Native American Branch - "Indian Land"

Common names on most all groups - John Scott, William Scott, Thomas Scott, James Scott, Joseph Scott, Elizabeth Scott, Sarah Scott, Mary Scott.

All a bunch of confusion.

John Scott, Sr. was a Revolutionary Patriot (just documented him) and had a wife named Sarah in Williamsburg.

There was apparently a John Scott in Charleston at about the same time whose wife Sarah petitioned:

Not the same John and Sarah. Need to make sure they are not confused.
