Hello, I have come to a dead-end in the search for information on my ancestors on my great-grandmother Peggy Shorter’s side.
- My great-grandfather Edgar Tillman Shorter (1904-1971) married Callie Kesler on Christmas Day in 1924 in Cooke County Texas.
- My grandfather Richard William Shorter was born on September 23, 1925, in Gainesville, Tx where they are shown to still reside in the 1930 census. This census shows Callie Shorter being born in Kentucky.
- The 1940 census shows Edgar and Richard to be residing with Peggy Shorter (1905-1989) in Alamosa Colorado. Peggy is also noted as being born in Kentucky and one year younger than Edgar as was Callie in 1930. I can’t find any divorce or marriage documentation showing that Edgar changed spouses.
- Somewhere between 1940 and 1951, I believe after Edgars service in WWII, they moved to Pueblo Colorado where they lived until death.
- Because of the matching details and lack of any disqualifying information, I believe Callie and Peggy are the same person.
I’ve exhausted all of the resources I can think of. I did find a Callie E Kesler born in 1985 but I do not believe this is a match.
