I figured I'd make a thread for anyone who wants to discuss today's release of the 1950 U.S. Federal Census, which can be found at https://1950census.archives.gov/

Has anyone found anything of interest or aid to your research? No big surprises in my family so far, but maybe others have something to share!

(To answer the inevitable question: It's not available yet for matching on sites like MyHeritage, Ancestry, or FamilySearch, but they all plan to have it fully searchable by summer. For now, use the National Archives website.)

Here's a handy guide to working with the pre-indexed sheets: https://newyorkfamilyhistory.org/blog/1950-us-federal-census
