Frank Owen Fischer was a Surveyor whilst in NZ there are records that he studied this qualification in Wellington. Records show that he may have been a bit of an eccentric person. In one media release he challenges another man to a duel with Pistols on Pukeroa but this did not place as the other person could not find a Second.
Frank stayed in contact with Te Mauru in her adult years as letters written by him to Te Mauru in reo maori are still existing. In one of the letters Franks meets up with some of the Maori All Blacks on tour in which he mentions Haupapa and a Wikiriwhi.
Latter information comes to light that Te Mauru and Wiremu are contesting land left by Frank to Te Mauru in London
