While there may have been several James Grahams in the same community, they didn't all die at the same time apparently. If this one actually died in ca. 1783, this probate record (an 800£ bond for the administration of his estate) could be his. Names included are (in order of appearance):
Mary Graham (Administrator), Jacob Nichols (Administrator), David Caldwell, John Johnston, Alexander Martin (NC governor), James Graham (deceased). The county clerk looks like J. I. Osborn.
Another notation on the outside of the form seems to indicate that the Principal individual involved in this case was Mary Graham.
As Mary (Millar) Graham died very young, one can only assume this is a different wife named Mary. If this is right, anyway.
While I'm here, we need proof of his birth in Scotland. I don't dispute it necessarily, because the family obviously originated in Scotland. But this branch was Scotch-Irish (i.e. Protestants), so they definitely left Scotland and migrated to England and/or Ireland before emigrating to America. His son James, according to the DAR, is said to have been born in Ireland.
