What is the connection, if any, between Daniel Shelton and the Virginia Shcltons? Some sources claim that Daniel was separated from his family in Virginia due to shipwreck and being unable to return home. The memorial book for Daniel Shelton (1877) says that he was born in England and immigrated to Connecticut while his brother Richard went to Virginia. The online Shelton family history does not seem to be very reliable about the origins of the Virginia branch of the family.
