Veteran researcher Shirley Edmonds is looking to clarify Frances Jefferson, seen (suddenly for geni) as wife of Thomas “The elder” Ramsey, Sr.
She writes:
I've been trying to figure out where the information that Frances Jefferson married Thomas Ramsey Senior came from. Could everyone please check your research notes and see what your source was if you have it. Maybe we can work backwards and see where it first appears on the internet?
We have no marriage record for Thomas Ramsey SENIOR (1734-1790) or his son Thomas Ramsey JUNIOR (1760-1844)
Some trees have both of those men married to Frances YOUNG.
Henry Delony's wife's first name was Frances as seen above. No known marriage record. She died around 1752.
Delony's daughter, Mary, is listed as granddaughter in Field Jefferson's will written in 1762 indicating that Mary's mother was Field's daughter.
Henry Delony was one of the executors of Field Jefferson's will along with 3 sons per will.
Henry Delony was the guardian of Field Jefferson's youngest daughter per court record in 1766.

There's this from Monticello.org
https://www.monticello.org/site/research-and-collections/field-jeff...
but they put the warning at the BOTTOM of the text but most quickie "researchers" would have cut and pasted and already left the page before reading:
"The information on Field Jefferson's children comes from a genealogical chart provided to the Thomas Jefferson Foundation by a descendant. It is believed to be accurate but has not been independently confirmed unless otherwise noted.
