I disconnected Augustine. I am thinking that is correct now?
I NEED Honeycutt researchers to weigh in.

I don't see an Augustine being disconnected in the revision history...can you link that profile so we know what we're supposed to be looking at? Thanks.

https://www.familytreedna.com/groups/hunicut/dna-results has NO NAMES, no place to ask a question or comment...

They "have approximately seven unique haplotypes identified within the Honeycutt Lines"

There are several Honeycutt groups on Facebook but it is difficult to work on the line.
I love my Honeycutt DNA and recognize a DNA match simply by the SNPs.... hoping "we" will get further along the more people test.

Let me look for the Augustine I disconnected.
Thank you!

Okay, so I would defer to Erica Howton here, but it looks like we're saying the only reason for the cut was conflicting Y-DNA? And the paper genealogy says Augustine was indeed a son of John?

If that's the case, I would not have made this cut. Making cuts in the historic tree based on modern DNA is usually not a good decision because we don't know with certainty where the NPE occurred. I know you like to work mainly with DNA results, but that's really hard to do for that time period, and we still need to consider the paper evidence as well.

But again, I'll defer to Erica.

I should add: The FTDNA page is private, only visible to members of the project. If I were you, I'd save the page there as a PDF and upload it here so everyone else can see the DNA argument.

Private User no. It is not the "only reason for the cut"

I have been working on them. It just takes time.

I have asked for several of the Augustines to be MP'd before because they keep getting mismerged and when they are corrected, they go back to that duplicate notification cycle.

Augustine Hunnicutt, II is one I have fixed after making many requests for help. I asked for him to be MP'd as his wife is and he keeps getting messed up but the request has not been accepted so far so I am in hopes of getting him done as well as a few others but since I am not a male Honeycutt, it is taking a bit og time and hopefully an abundance of caution :)

Augustine Hunnicutt I would love to see this one MP'd as well

Augustine Hunnicutt, III comes up as a duplicate of Augustine Hunnicutt
I keep rejecting it and have asked for help with the gentleman who married the two Ann/Anne's. He is the son of Augustine Hunnicutt, II and Margaret Hunnicutt

The husband of Phoebe Crews is a dead end until further DNA studies are in. This is per direct descendants.

This is NOT my research.
I am a puzzle person who is trying to get them correct in Geni since the original researchers have become frustrated with Geni and other sites.
These two separate Augustine Hunnicutts are different Y which helps keep them separate but they have been mismerged before because of the confusion over their names and there are not enough sources on the profiles yet.

Don't know if this helps but my brother's y-111 and Big Y-700 results are available at FTDNA.

Jessie Dianne Honeycutt you can add a private profile for him and connect his dna! It is very helpful here because not everyone can see the results at FtDNA

Checked on this and my brother's dna results are already posted.

Jessie Dianne Honeycutt excellent! I can't see his profile because it is private but does the line look correct for his DNA?
I also cannot see names, etc, on the FtDNA Y study even though I have joined the project (not a participant in the donor end).
I do know they have something like seven different Y haplos and so not all are the same family group

Yes, R-Y136080. He is participating in the Honeycutt Project.

I am thankful for the MP flag on our Honeycutt/Hunnicut kin and the DNA attached which help make this site THE NUMBER ONE place I "do" genealogy.

I know there are some who have confused John that this discussion started under for John Honeycutt but as someone who has been doing genealogy since the days of microfiche and genetic genealogy since taking my first DNA test in December 2016, I know DNA trumps the paper trail and am just grateful for a place to work this out PUBLICLY lol
While I respect and understand privacy of living people, I am thankful for the collaborative process and the humility that all to often comes with the process of finding proven ancestors.

Thank you for sharing <3

*too often
