What mystery you say. Let me see if I can describe how I see it.

I am a direct line to George Washington (however you think the last name is spelled). I was first led to believe that both George and Anna were born in the Alsace Lorraine region of France. I was given a copy of research done by Walter Elijah Laurance which was done back in the early 70's. I am guessing that all the information he gathered was from that old fashion way of gathering family history. He wrote letters to family members and pulled information from family bibles. George was born in 1750 and not in the 1764 as noted by Find A Grave. Apparently there is no gravestone or a photo would have appeared. I have no idea on any official records. Are we talking about the same George's or are there really two George's. Was Anna Baker born in Germany, or France, or North Carolina? Either George and Anna they both lead to the almost same children. One or two exceptions. I was also led to believe there was 19 children born in the family of George and Anna. I can only come up with 18 and even the last two are a given. I realize that back in those days the chance of a baby living was almost a miracle. A lost infant may or may not have been recorded.
Depending on the actual truth of which George those early days of American history in the (Lorance) Family changes a bit. I hope we descendants can reach a state of truth about a man who made it to the new world for what ever the reasons were some 300 years ago.
