I am most unhappy with the entries in the profile of John Jenkins in regards to his siblings.
He did NOT have a sibling named Celie Jenkins Dinges; Once Jonas Tollivar Jenkins SR 1772 to 1856 and his wife Mary Polly Brickey moved to NC about 1810 to 1820 from Cocke Co. TN (from VA to Cocke CO. TN), the family remained in NC. Do not confuse with another Jonas Jenkins Sr of approximate same age who married Ann Williams as this family never left VA. Both had sons named Jonas Jenkins, Jr.; the one that stayed in VA married Juliet Burkholder, but the one who came to North Carolina first married Margaret "Peggy" Juliet Sellers.
Jonas Jenkins, Jr. 1804-1870 and Margaret "Peggy" Sellers Jenkins had the following children: 1) Rachel 1823-1893, married Brittain Medlin; 2) John Jenkins 1826-1910, married Elizabeth "Betsy" Sawyer, daughter of WIlliam Sawyer and Margaret Hyde Sawyer; 3) Phillip, b. 1830 and no further information; 4) Abraham Jenkins b. ca. 1833, d. 1873, married Sarah Jane Lovin, 5) Elizabeth Jenkins 1835 to 1910, married William Marcus, and 6) Isaac D Jenkins born 1838, and his mother, Margaret "Peggy" Sellers Jenkins died and Isaac was reared by Margaret Sellers Jenkins's brother, Isaac Sellers.
The above is attested by two documents, one by John Jenkins b. 1826, and one by Rachel Hyde Jenkins (2nd wife of Jonas Jenkins, Jr.) in her application for a pension.
