Leslie DANIEL Stewart Is NOT a 'Daniel'!!! this just helps to confuse this line of Stewart!
Leslie Stewart was possibly born in Ireland, But moved to ROTHSEY isle of Bute Scotland! He was a CARTER / Farm servant to trade Which is a significant clue that this family is NOT related to the Stewarts who are land OWNERS and aristocracy that folk keep adding them to!!!!
He married MAY Campbell Born in ROTHSEY abt 1756 HER father was James Campbell (Farmer) and mother Mary MaCallum From Daughter's Death Certificate) May Campbell died May 12 1868 in Greenock Signed by THOMAS her son who lived in Greenock.
They had Leslie and his TWIN sister Mary 16 August 1827 in Rothsay ( Leslie is my2x great grandfather! and the name travelled directly down to the 1900's to the Leslie who died aged 22.
