See _Forerunners Courageous, Stories of Frontier Florida_ by Hon. LeRoy Collins, governor of Florida (1955-61), whose wife, Mary Call (Darby) Collins was a direct descendant. Richard Keith Call, appointed Florida Territorial Governor in 1836 by Pres. Andrew Jackson, was her g-grandfather. The "House of Call" family pedigree chart is in the back of the book.

Richard Keith Call had three brothers, Jacob Call, George Call, and William Call, III.

Richard Keith Call's wife, Mary Letitia (Kirkman) Call ("Mary Call, I") died around the time of the birth of their second child, Mary (Call) Brevard ("Mary Call, II").

The family had a generational string of "Mary Call"s, whom they numbered 'first' through 'fourth', apparently. Mary Call (Darby) Collins was known within the family as "Mary Call, III", and her daughter with LeRoy Collins was "Mary Call, IV".

Richard and Mary had two daughters. The eldest, Ellen (m. Medicus Long) had two children, Richard Call Long (m. Cora Gamble) and Eleanora Kirkman (Long) who married Edwin K. Hollinger.

The children of Richard Call Long and Cora Gamble were: Richard Call Long, Jr. (died of either typhoid or flu, sans progeny, unmarried); and Reinette Gamble Long (m. E. H. Hunt).

The children of Eleanora Kirkman (Long) and Edwin K. Hollinger were: Richard Robeson Hollinger (m. Dorothy Zimmerman); and Edwin Kirkman Hollinger.

Note: Reinette Gamble (Long) married a Mr. Hunt who is identified variously in the Collins biography as E. H. Hunt, E. C. Hunt, and Charles Edwin Hunt.

From Findagrave we have:

Reinette Long Hunt was the daughter of Richard Call Long and Cora Gamble Long, and granddaughter of Ellen Call Long. She spent most of her youth at The Grove, briefly going north for schooling, helping her grandmother Ellen Call Long to care for house and with her silk-making. She married Charles Edwin Hunt at the age of twenty-four, briefly living with him in New York before returning to The Grove in 1903. Due to financial problems, The Grove had been forced to foreclose, and Charles Hunt purchased The Grove and gave the titled to Reinette against Ellen's wishes. This would continue to impact Reinette's relationship with the family after Ellen died in 1905.

Reinette and Charles did not have children, and they divorced in 1911 due to Charles physical and emotional abuse and abandonment of Reinette, leaving Reinette to support herself financially. She began to provide various art and literature lessons, having picked up the interest while away at school. She also became a published writer like her grandmother and father, publishing the Historical Pageant of Tallahassee and several other works. By the 1920s, Reinette began to rent out rooms in the Call-Collins house much like her grandmother had, but this time turning her family home into a hotel. Unfortunately, the Great Depression took both a financial and physical toll on Reinette, and while she struggled to procure funds to preserve The Grove and keep it under her ownership, she fell ill and died in October of 1940. She is buried next to her mother and grandmother. According to notes on a hand-drawn map made by Anthony Jensen in 1967, Reinette had her dog and "constant companion," – a small white poodle named Buster – buried next to her in the cemetery.

So, although his grave isn't connected with hers on that website (understandably, perhaps) -- I would go with "Charles Edwin" Hunt, rather than either E. C. or E. H.

The children of the younger daughter of Richard Keith Call and "Mary Call I", "Mary Call, II" and her husband, General Theodore Washington Brevard, (CSA) were:

Richard Call Brevard

Note: This "Richard Call" Brevard is the one who died unmarried, sans progeny. According to Findagrave: "Worked in 1880 as a railroad clerk in Madison, FL"

(Strike my earlier statement about "Richard Call" Long's death circumstances. In my haste I confused some of the facts among all the members of this extended family, in particular all the different Richards.)

Caroline Mays Brevard

From Findagrave: "She was an author and historian who published "A History of Florida" to excellent reviews. She also authored a book on southern literature, entitled "The Literature of the South," which was published in 1908 by the Broadway Publishing Company of New York.

"(bio by Martha Reid 19 UDC) Caroline was the granddaughter of FL Territorial Governor Richard Keith Call. She was FL Division UDC Historian from 1900-1904 & 1909-1912. She also served as chairman of the FL Division Education Committee. She was author of "The History and Government of Florida", a textbook used in Florida public schools. She was organizing president of Anna Jackson Chapter UDC, Tallahassee in 1898."

(According to my sources Caroline also never married and died sans progeny.)

Dr. Ephraim M Brevard

(Ephraim's wife and children are correctly represented here.)

Alice Brevard

Alice Hayne (Brevard) married George Humphrey Gwynn. According to Ancestry, "Born in Oaks Plantation Tallahassee, Leon, Florida on Mar 27 1862 to David Walker Gwynn and Caroline Ann "Lina" Blake. George Humphrey Gwynn had 4 children. He passed away on Jun 8 1931 in Leon, Florida, United States." This is his WWI military service record (1st Lt. Marine Corps):

https://www.floridamemory.com/items/show/199945

Alice Hayne Brevard and George Humphrey Gwynn had a son, George, Jr. (m. Mae Steinman). George Jr. was the informant on his father's death certificate. Alice had died shortly after childbirth, and George Sr.'s second wife was Jennie Perkins, with whom he had another child.

(Note that Findagrave has not made all the genealogical connections.)

Jane Kirkman Darby

Jane Kirkman (Brevard) and Thomas A. Darby were the parents of "Mary Call, III" (Darby), wife of governor LeRoy Collins. My understanding is that she was their only child.

I found no documentation for the following:

Jennie Brevard

Helen Kirkman Brevard

(Additionally, Findagrave notes three of their children who died young: Ellen, Mary, and Theodore.)

Eleanora Kirkman (Long) who married Edwin K. Hollinger (neither of which have profiles that I know of), known as "Nonie" to family and close friends, was a free-spirited soul who taught piano and was the inspiration for "A Tallahassee Girl" by Maurice Thompson (1909).
