The maiden name of the mother of my great grandfather Peter Stepanowicz (1858-1931) was Apolonia Dulsky. Her father's name was Jan Dulsky. When Apolonia married Peter's father, Josif (1832-1914), in 1856, her age was given as 30, i.e. born ca. 1826.At her death in 1885, Apolonia was said to be 50 years old, i.e., born in 1835. Apolonia was the widow of one Tveronovich. Apolonia's mother was Anna, nee Stankevich. At the time of her marriage to Josif, Apolonia and her parents were living in Balčiai, within the parish of Vainutas. Apolonia and Josif were married in the Catholic Church, and their children were baptized as Catholics, as well. However, my mother told me that Peter Stepanowicz descended from Jewish converts and that one of his uncles, who remained Jewish, became a rabbi. The main reason that I think "your" Jan Dulski was "my" Jan Dulsky is that ";your" Jan Dulski's mother was named Apolonia. According to my hypothesis, Jan Dulski/Dulsky named his daughter after his mother. Also, "my" Apolonia named one of her sons Vinzentis. How do you see this? Does the chronology fit? What sources did you use to establish the names of Jan's family members?
