And is this a duplicate for John?:
John Gillis

Does not appear to be but I am not familiar with the East coast families

Duplicate post?

The situation is complicated because the whole kaboodle went scooting off into old Somerset County, MD, where records are fewer. and the Miles Files didn't follow them.

It does look as though the John Gillis with daughter Sarah m. Thomas Shaw is actually a Bostonian - at least, that's what Sarah's info says. Sarah Shaw

And it's complicated before that, too, as it seems Mark Manlove first tried his luck in Plimoth Plantation, Massachusetts, found it too restrictive, bugged out with family to Northampton County, VA, found *that* too restrictive, and took 'em all, plus his neighbors the Gillises, up the Delmarva to Somerset County, Maryland.

Mark Manlove, per Miles Files: http://espl-genealogy.org/MilesFiles/site/p283.htm#i28293
